Weather Summary for Puerto Rico
National Weather Service San Juan PR
405 AM AST Sat Apr 29 2017

Mostly cloudy skies prevailed across Puerto Rico overnight. Showers
and thunderstorms affected the southeast section of Puerto Rico
with the heaviest rainfall affecting the municipalities of
Yabucoa, Maunabo and Patillas. Rainfall accumulation from one to
two inches were estimated by the Doppler weather radar in some
localized areas in southeastern Puerto Rico. Other areas of
showers and thunderstorms affect also Vieques, Culebra, and the
northeast section of Puerto Rico. Temperatures were in the mid
to upper 70s and winds were mainly east at 10 mph or less.

For today, a very moist and unstable environment will aid in the
development of showers and thunderstorms across the Cordillera
Central of Puerto Rico early in the afternoon, with the activity
expected to spread across the western interior and northwest
sections of Puerto Rico. Heavy rainfall will lead to urban and
small stream flooding.

Mariners can expect seas up to 6 feet across the regional waters
and local passages with easterly winds between 15 and 20 knots.
Therefore, mariners should exercise caution across most of the
regional waters. There is a moderate risk of rip currents across
most of the local beaches, except for the west coastline.
