143 AWCA82 TJSJ 142113 CCB RWSPR Weather Summary for Puerto Rico...CORRECTED National Weather Service San Juan PR 513 PM AST Tue Mar 14 2017 Mostly sunny skies prevailed across much of the region today. The exception was over parts of the interior and west sections of Puerto Rico where clouds and a few showers developed and moved westward across the surrounding municipalities. While there were isolated areas of locally heavy rainfall, most of the shower activity was of light to moderate intensity and of short duration. Afternoon high temperatures along the coastal areas were in the low to mid 80s. Except for local sea breeze variations, winds from the east 10 to 15 mph with occasionally higher gusts. Skies will become mostly clear to partly cloudy overnight with no significant rainfall expected to affect the islands. However, by early morning, passing trade wind showers may affect parts of the east coastal sections of a few islands. Mostly sunny skies expected on Wednesday, except for a some locally and diurnally induced afternoon showers across parts of the interior and west sections of Puerto Rico. Slightly warmer temperatures expected on Wednesday and Thursday as winds are forecast to become more southeasterly in response to the surface high pressure ridge lifting farther northeast of the region. Small craft advisories will be in effect for the offshore Atlantic waters until later this evening. Winds will be up to 20 knots. Small craft operators should exercise caution elsewhere with easterly winds of 10 to 15 knots with higher gusts and seas of 6 feet or less. For the rest of the evening hours...Local beach goers can expect high risk of rip currents on the north facing beaches of Puerto Rico and Culebrita beach with moderate risk elsewhere except of the west coast south of Rincon. $$ This product is issued around 5 AM and 5 PM each day and weather conditions may change between issuances.
