A winter storm system will intensify as tracks across Kansas today 
and northern Missouri tonight. Snow will spread east across Nebraska 
and southern South Dakota into Iowa and southern Minnesota north of 
the system. Winter storm warnings and advisories cover much of the 
region today into Friday. Significant snowfall and near blizzard 
conditions are expected. A blizzard warning covers parts of 
southeast South Dakota,southern Minnesota and northwest Iowa tonight 
and Friday. Thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and tonight 
from north central Kansas into southeast Nebraska,southern Iowa and 
northern Missouri. 

High temperatures today will range from the 30s west and north to 
the 60s and 70s south across Kansas and Missouri. Lows tonight will 
be in the 20s and 30s.
