This bulk download tool provides the NWS text
in a raw form, hopefully directly usable by your processing system.
You can either provide a complete 6-character PIL/AFOS ID or provide
the 3-character base ID (e.g., AFD
). The start and end
dates represent 00 UTC for those dates. The Zip format is useful as
the filenames will have the product timestamp, which is useful for
when the product format has ambiguous timestamps.
250 FXUS62 KFFC 270522 AFDFFC Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Peachtree City GA 1222 AM EST Fri Jan 27 2017 .UPDATE... Updated for the 06Z Aviation Discussion. && .PREV DISCUSSION... /Issued 1010 PM EST Thu Jan 26 2017/ Update... No changes planned for the forecast. 41 Previous... SHORT TERM /Tonight through Friday Night/... High pressure will continue to build into the CWA through Friday. This will keep winds northwest but diminishing tonight...increasing again on Friday with gusts of 20 to 25 mph. Clouds over TN will begin moving south tonight...however downsloping should limit the coverage with mainly areas of north of ATL/AHN going mostly cloudy. Very dry air aloft will clear skies with mixing Friday morning. Local bias tables indicate mos guidance low temps at all stations have been running 1 to 3 degrees too cold and have therefore raised low temps a degree or two. 17 LONG TERM /Saturday through Thursday/... Main player in the extended forecast will be a clipper system that moves through late Saturday into Sunday. The clipper system looks to be moisture starved. However, prolonged NW flow against the ridge tops could provide just enough lift for isolated showers. Sunday afternoon looks to be the period of strongest lift and the best moisture...but the isolated showers will linger into Sunday night. The temp/moisture profiles for Sunday night do support a change to wintry wintry precip. However, chances remain small and moisture is limited, so no accumulations are anticipated within the ice/snow grids. The next front that comes through the region looks to be on Wednesday, but remains a dry fropa at this time. Temps will remain fairly close to seasonal values through the period. NListemaa FIRE WEATHER... High pressure will build into the region through Saturday bringing dry and stable conditions. Humidities are not expected to reach critical levels through Saturday. Winds may reach critical levels Friday with gusts of 20 to 25 mph. However fuel moistures have not reached 8 percent...therefore a Fire Danger Statement is not anticipated for Friday. && .AVIATION... 06Z Update... Strato cu over TN and northern AL will move across north GA with the ATL area being on the southern limit of the cloud field. At this time expect SCT030 this morning but as mixing takes place after sunrise...the drier air aloft will mix in and the clouds should dissipate. Expect VFR conditions for the rest of the forecast all areas. Winds will be northwest and gusty today and then diminishing tonight. //ATL Confidence...06Z Update... Medium on clouds this morning. High on remaining elements. 17 && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
