Weather Summary for the U.S. Virgin Islands
National Weather Service San Juan PR
531 PM AST Fri Jan 6 2017

Mostly sunny skies were observed across the U.S. Virgin Islands
today. Fair weather with daytime maximum temperatures were in the
mid 80s with easterly winds at around 10 to 15 mph.

Surface high pressure just northeast of the region will continue
to dominate the local islands through the next several days. A
mid to upper level high pressure over the local area will also
promote stable conditions across the islands over the next several
days. Therefore, a relatively fair weather pattern is anticipated
over the local islands.

Across the coastal waters, Seas up to 5 feet and winds up to 15
knots are expected tonight. There is moderate risk of rip
currents across the north facing beaches of Saint Thomas and Saint Croix
tonight as well. Seas will become hazardous early on Saturday and
a Small Craft Advisory will go into effect starting at 8 AM AST on
Saturday. There will be a high risk of rip currents across
northern and eastern Saint Croix on Saturday.
