555 AWCA82 TJSJ 160956 RWSPR Weather Summary for Puerto Rico National Weather Service San Juan PR 556 AM AST Sun Oct 16 2016 Passing clouds with embedded trade wind showers were observed across the windward sections of Puerto Rico overnight. Minimum temperatures were between the upper 70s and low 80s and the winds from the east at less than 10 mph. Sunny skies with a few passing showers affecting the east coast of Puerto Rico is expected during the morning. Then, a chance of locally and diurnally induced afternoon showers and thunderstorms are possible across sections of the interior and west Puerto Rico. Temperatures will continue in the normal range for this time of the year under prevailing easterly trade winds. Mariners can expect easterly winds around 10 knots and seas around 5 feet. However, higher breaking wave heights are expected to produce a high risk of rip currents across the Atlantic coastline. Another long period north swell is expected to reach the local waters by late tonight through at least mid week. $$ This product is issued around 5 AM and 5 PM each day and weather conditions may change between issuances.
