858 AWCA82 TJSJ 252054 RWSPR Weather Summary for Puerto Rico National Weather Service San Juan PR 454 PM AST SUN SEP 25 2016 Mostly sunny skies prevailed across the region today. However during the afternoon, showers and isolated thunderstorms developed across parts of the West Interior and West sections of Puerto Rico. Some areas produced periods of moderate to local heavy rains and dangerous lightning. Rainfall accumulations ranged between 1-3 inches especially across portions of Las Marias, Maricao, Lares and Utuado. Except for local sea breeze variations, winds were mainly from the east at 10 to 15 mph. Afternoon high temperatures were in the high 80s to low 90s along the coastal areas. Expect decreasing cloud cover and showers activity by early evening leaving partly cloudy to mostly clear skies over land. Winds will become light and variable to calm over land areas. on Monday and Tuesday expected the easterly trades to bring small patches of trade wind moisture to the regions. Showers may affect parts of the north and east coastal sections of the islands during the early mornings. This will be followed by mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies during the rest of the day. The exception will be across parts of the Central and West sections of Puerto rico where locally and diurnally induced showers and isolated thunderstorms will remain possible each afternoon. Across the regional waters, mariners can expect seas of 5 feet or less and east winds up to 10 knots through Monday.
