378 AWCA82 TJSJ 252049 RWSVI Weather Summary for the U.S. Virgin Islands National Weather Service San Juan PR 449 PM AST SUN SEP 25 2016 Mostly sunny skies prevailed across the region today. Some isolated showers were noted around a northern islands while an isolated thunderstorm was observed just off west coast of Saint Croix. However, so far no heavy rainfall was reported over the land areas. Except for local sea breeze variations, winds were mainly from the east at 10 to 15 mph. Afternoon high temperatures were in the high 80s to low 90s along the coastal areas. Expect decreasing cloud cover and shower activity by early evening. Winds will become light and variable to calm over land areas. On Monday and Tuesday expect the easterly trades to bring small patches of low level trade wind moisture to the region. Some accompanying showers may affect parts of the north and east coastal sections of the islands during the early mornings. This will be followed by mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies during the rest of the day. The exception will be across parts of west sections and downwind of the islands where locally and diurnally induced shower activity may occur each day. Across the regional waters, mariners can expect seas of 5 feet or less and east winds up to 10 knots through Monday.
