High temperatures were in the upper 80s. Dry weather is expected for much of the Midwest for tonight and Thursday. The exception will be from southern Illinois into the Ohio Valley, where scattered storms will be possible. Conditions will become hot and humid on Thursday for a large part of the Midwest, with highs in the lower 90s, and high humidity leading to afternoon heat indices over 100 degrees. A cold front will move in from the north on Friday, bringing scattered showers and storms to the region. Heavy downpours will be possible with these storms. Low temperatures tonight will drop into the mid 60s to mid 70s across the Midwest, while highs on Thursday will reach the upper 80s to mid 90s. $$
