MONDAY EVENING...

BREEZY NORTHWEST WINDS WILL USHER IN A COOL WEEKEND FOR THE OPENING 
OF FIRE ARMS SEASON FOR DEER HUNTING IN MINNESOTA. HIGHS THIS 
WEEKEND WILL BE IN THE 20S NORTH WITH 30S AND LOWER 40S SOUTH. 
TONIGHT...A QUICK BURST OF SNOW WILL MOVE SOUTH FROM THE NORTHWEST 
INTO EAST CENTRAL AREAS. THOUGH THIS IS MINOR COMPARED TO WHAT IS TO 
COME TO START NEXT WEEK.

BY LATE SUNDAY AFTERNOON...A LIGHT RAIN AND SNOW MIX WILL START 
MOVING INTO THE SOUTHWEST...WITH HEAVY PRECIPITATION MOVING INTO THE 
SOUTHERN HALF OF THE STATE SUNDAY NIGHT. THIS PRECIPITATION WILL 
COME IN THE FORM OF SNOW...WHICH WILL COME DOWN HEAVY FOR MUCH OF 
THE DAY MONDAY. WHERE EXACTLY THIS BAND OF HEAVY SNOW CONTINUES TO 
BE A POINT OF CONTENTION...BUT RIGHT NOW...AN APPROXIMATELY 70 MILE 
WIDE BAND OF 6-12 INCHES OF SNOW LOOKS TO FALL SOMEWHERE BETWEEN THE 
TWIN CITIES AND CENTRAL MN.

BEHIND THIS SYSTEM...THE REST OF THE FORECAST CAN BE SUMMED UP WITH 
ONE WORD...COLD. TEMPERATURES THROUGH NEXT WEEKEND WILL REMAIN BELOW 
FREEZING. ALTHOUGH IT WILL BE COLD...AT LEAST IT LOOKS MAINLY DRY 
AFTER MONDAY.
