This bulk download tool provides the NWS text
in a raw form, hopefully directly usable by your processing system.
You can either provide a complete 6-character PIL/AFOS ID or provide
the 3-character base ID (e.g., AFD
). The start and end
dates represent 00 UTC for those dates. The Zip format is useful as
the filenames will have the product timestamp, which is useful for
when the product format has ambiguous timestamps.
180 FXUS64 KMAF 092042 AFDMAF AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MIDLAND/ODESSA TX 342 PM CDT THU AUG 9 2012 .DISCUSSION... ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS WILL PERSIST THROUGH THIS EVENING OVER THE LOWER TRANS PECOS, BIG BEND, AND DAVIS MOUNTAINS/MARFA PLATEAU REGIONS AS SUFFICIENT MOISTURE AND LIFT ARE IN PLACE. POTENTIAL IS THERE FOR A FEW STORMS TO PRODUCE WIND GUSTS TO NEAR 50 MPH AS WELL AS PERHAPS SOME BRIEF HEAVY RAIN. THEREAFTER, NOT MUCH TO TALK ABOUT. THE OVERALL PATTERN OVER THE CONUS WILL UNDERGO SOME AMPLIFICATION OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS AS UPPER HEIGHTS INCREASE OVER THE CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN ROCKIES. SUCH CONDITIONS THIS TIME OF YEAR USUALLY MEAN THAT THE SUMMER MONSOON IS KEPT TO THE WEST WHILE HIGH TEMPERATURES RUN ABOUT 3 TO 5 DEGREES ABOVE CLIMATOLOGY. THERE'S AN OUTSIDE CHANCE THAT A FEW AREAS DOWN IN THE DAVIS MOUNTAINS AND BIG BEND AREAS COULD SEE ONE OR TWO THUNDERSTORMS TOMORROW AFTERNOON. OTHERWISE RAIN CHANCES ARE JUST ABOUT NIL THROUGH AT LEAST THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK. A SLIGHT WEAKNESS DEVELOPS ALOFT EARLY NEXT WEEK AND ASSOCIATED LOWER THICKNESSES MAY RESULT IN AN EVER SO SLIGHT DECREASE IN DAYTIME HIGHS. SHOULD SEE ABOUT A 25 TO 30 DEGREE DIURNAL SWING EACH NIGHT. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
