SUMMARY OF FWF DISCUSSIONS

Discussion from LAXFWFSGX

MODERATE TO STRONG AND GUSTY NORTHEAST TO EAST WINDS WILL CONTINUE
ACROSS THE REGION TONIGHT AND EARLY SUNDAY. THESE WINDS WILL
COMBINE WITH VERY DRY CONDITIONS TO ELEVATION THE FIRE DANGER.
OVERNIGHT HUMIDITY RECOVERIES WILL BE POOR TONIGHT...WITH DAYTIME
HUMIDITIES FALLING INTO THE SINGLE DIGITS AGAIN. COOLER CONDITIONS
AND HIGHER HUMIDITIES WILL DEVELOP FOR MONDAY AND TUESDAY...AS A
TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE MOVES INLAND ACROSS THE WEST. WARMER AND
DRIER CONDITIONS WILL RETURN FOR THE MIDDLE AND LATTER PART OF NEXT
WEEK...WITH PERIODS OF WEAK TO MODERATE NORTHEAST WINDS.

Discussion from LAXFWFLOX

WIDESPREAD CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS
CONTINUE OVER MOST OF LOS ANGELES AND VENTURA COUNTY FROM STRONG
HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE GREAT BASIN THIS AFTERNOON. MOST VALLEY AND
MOUNTAIN LOCATIONS IN VENTURA AND LOS ANGELES COUNTIES ARE SEEING
HUMIDITY READINGS IN THE SINGLE DIGITS TO LOW TEENS THIS
AFTERNOON...WITH WIND GUSTS SOLIDLY IN EXCESS OF 35 MPH.
CONDITIONS WILL GRADUALLY MODERATE OVERNIGHT TONIGHT...BUT
CONDITIONS WILL REMAIN NEAR CRITICAL INTO SUNDAY AFTERNOON.
OTHERWISE...DRY AND MILD CONDITIONS WILL PERSIST OVER THE REGION
THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT.

ONSHORE FLOW SHOULD DEVELOP BY MONDAY AS A WEAK AREA OF LOW
PRESSURE APPROACHES THE COAST EARLY MONDAY. SOME COOLING AND
MOISTENING WILL OCCUR FOR MONDAY AND TUESDAY...BUT OFFSHORE FLOW
SHOULD REDEVELOP FOR THE LATTER HALF OF NEXT WEEK. THERE IS A
POTENTIAL FOR ANOTHER PERIOD OF WARM AND DRY CONDITIONS.

Discussion from SFOFWFHNX

HIGH PRESSURE AND AN OFFSHORE FLOW WILL BRING BREEZY
TO LOCALLY GUSTY WINDS TONIGHT OVER THE MOUNTAINS AND DESERTS.
TEMPERATURES WILL TREND WARMER WITH MUCH DRIER CONDITIONS OVER THE
MOUNTAINS BY SUNDAY. BECOMING A COUPLE OF DEGREES COOLER WITH
SLIGHTLY HIGHER HUMIDITIES EARLY NEXT WEEK AS A TROUGH OF LOW
PRESSURE AFFECT THE REGION...THEN HIGH PRESSURE BEGINS TO REBUILD
MIDWEEK FOR WARMER AND DRIER CONDITIONS ONCE AGAIN. THE SAN
JOAQUIN VALLEY WILL HAVE PATCHES OF NIGHT AND MORNING FOG EACH DAY.

Discussion from RNOFWFVEF

GUSTY NORTH WINDS WILL PERSIST DOWN THE COLORADO RIVER
VALLEY SOUTH OF HOOVER DAM TODAY...OTHERWISE DRY WEATHER IS
EXPECTED AREAWIDE THROUGH EARLY NEXT WEEK WITH TEMPERATURES NEAR TO
SLIGHTLY ABOVE NORMAL. ANOTHER ROUND OF GUSTY NORTH WINDS IS
EXPECTED FOR THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK.

Discussion from PHXFWFPSR

GUSTY NORTHERLY WINDS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH MID DAY TODAY AS A DRY
FRONT CONTINUES TO MOVE THROUGH THE AREA. STRONGEST WINDS WILL BE
ACROSS SOUTHEAST CALIFORNIA NEAR AND ALONG THE COLORADO RIVER WITH
GUSTS TO 30 MPH POSSIBLE AND TAPERING OFF BY LATE AFTERNOON. DRY AIR
WILL REMAIN IN PLACE WITH HUMIDITIES IN THE MID TO LOW TEENS ACROSS
THE AREA. CRITICAL THRESHOLDS MAY BE ACHIEVED FOR A BRIEF TIME ACROSS
SOUTHEAST CALIFORNIA SATURDAY MORNING BEFORE THE WINDS BECOME
LIGHTER. GOOD OVERNIGHT RECOVERY IS EXPECTED.

NOTE...ADDITIONAL FIRE WEATHER FORECAST INFORMATION CAN BE FOUND
IN THE AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION. SEE PRODUCT PHXAFDPSR.
