...SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM PST FOR THE
SOUTHEAST PORTION OF JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK...

BETWEEN 220 AND 3 PM PST...RADAR ESTIMATES THAT IN EXCESS OF ONE HALF
INCH OF RAIN FELL JUST EAST OF THE COTTONWOOD VISITOR CENTER...
INCLUDING MUNSEN CANYON. SHOWERS CONTINUE TO DEVELOP TO THE SOUTH AND
WEST OF THE PARK...WITH THE HEAVIEST SHOWER ACTIVITY EXPECTED TO
TRACK ACROSS THE AREA THAT HAS RECEIVED THE HEAVIEST RAIN THUS FAR.
WASHES IN THE AREA WILL BE RUNNING...AND MOTORISTS ON EL DORADO MINE
ROAD AND PALMS CANYON ROAD SHOULD BE PREPARED TO ENCOUNTER RUNNING
WATER AT LOW WATER LOCATIONS.

NEVER DRIVE THROUGH WATER COVERED ROADS OR RUNNING WASHES. USE
CAUTION IN AND AROUND STREAMS...CREEKS...OR DRAINAGE DITCHES. HIKERS
ARE ENCOURAGED TO AVOID FLOOD PRONE AREAS.
