000 AWUS84 KEWX 052215 RWSTX SOUTH TEXAS WEATHER SUMMARY NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AUSTIN / SAN ANTONIO TX 415 PM CST SAT FEB 5 2005 MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES COVERED SOUTH TEXAS THIS AFTERNOON WITH VERY LIGHT RAIN OVER THE WESTERN HALF OF THE AREA. WINDS WERE EAST TO SOUTHEAST AT SPEEDS GENERALLY LESS THAN 10 MPH. TEMPERATURES WERE A LITTLE WARMER ALONG THE COAST BUT REMAINED COOL ELSEWHERE. READINGS AT 4 PM RANGED FROM 50 DEGREES AT ROCKSPRINGS AND KERRVILLE TO 69 DEGREES AT BROWNSVILLE. AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE OVER NORTHERN MEXICO WILL PULL TO THE NORTHEAST OVERNIGHT INTO SUNDAY DRAGGING RAIN CHANCES ACROSS ALL OF SOUTH TEXAS THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING. NOT A LOT OF RAIN IS EXPECTED BUT THE DREARY WEATHER WILL LINGER ON. OFF AND ON RAIN CHANCES WILL CONTINUE INTO WEDNESDAY WHEN A COLD FRONT FINALLY PUSHES OUT THE RAIN AND OFFERS A QUICK SHOT OF SUNSHINE. TEMPERATURES WILL REMAIN SLIGHTLY BELOW NORMAL. $$

SHOWERS HAVE BEEN OCCURRING ACROSS THE FAR WEST THE ENTIRE
AFTERNOON. THESE SHOWERS WERE GRADUALLY SPREADING EASTWARD AND ARE
LOCATED OVER FROM THE BIG BEND INTO THE SOUTHWESTERN PORTIONS OF THE
SOUTH PLAINS. SKIES ACROSS ALL OF WEST TEXAS AND THE OKLAHOMA
PANHANDLE ARE CLOUDY. WINDS WERE MOSTLY FROM THE SOUTH AND SOUTHEAST
AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 10 AND 20 MPH.
TEMPERATURES THIS AFTERNOON HAVE WARMED INTO THE 40S AND
50S...EXCEPT FOR SOME 30S IN THE MOUNTAINS. EXTREMES AT 3 PM WERE
37 DEGREES AT GUADALUPE PASS AND 54 DEGREES AT BIG SPRING.
WEST TEXAS/OKLAHOMA PANHANDLE FORECAST SUMMARY...
CLOUDY WITH PERIODS OF RAIN TONIGHT. THE RAIN IS EXPECTED TO END
GRADUALLY FROM WEST TO EAST ON SUNDAY. SKIES MAY BECOME PARTLY
CLOUDY ACROSS THE SOUTH AND FAR WEST BY AFTERNOON. LOWS TONIGHT WILL
BE IN THE 30S AND 40S. HIGHS SUNDAY WILL RANGE FROM THE 40S NORTH TO
THE 60S SOUTH.
PARTLY CLOUDY AND DRIER MONDAY AND TUESDAY. A FRONT MAY MOVE INTO
THE PANHANDLE ON TUESDAY. LOWS ARE EXPECTED TO BE IN THE 30S AND
40S. HIGHS BOTH AFTERNOONS WILL RANGE FROM THE 40S NORTH TO THE 60S
SOUTH.

THIS ACTIVITY WAS MOVING SLOWLY TO THE EAST. ELSEWHERE, SKIES WERE MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH A FEW RAYS OF SUNSHINE MIXED IN. TEMPERATURES WERE WARMER TODAY ON SOUTHERLY WINDS. READING AT 4 PM RANGED FROM 61 DEGREES AT DEL RIO TO 82 DEGREES AT HARLINGEN AND WESLACO. WEAK DISTURBANCES MOVING WEST TO EAST ACROSS SOUTH TEXAS WILL PRODUCE LIGHT RAIN CHANCES MONDAY AND TUESDAY. THEN A COLD FRONT WEDNESDAY WILL USHER IN BRIEF DRY PERIOD BEFORE NEXT ROUND OF WET WEATHER THURSDAY THROUGH SATURDAY. TEMPERATURES WILL BE A LITTLE WARMER THAN LAST WEEK. $$
