LAND MANAGEMENT FORECAST
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PORTLAND OREGON
245 PM PDT Thu May 1 2003 Fcstr: Rockey.

***FIRE WEATHER DESK IS STAFFED MONDAY-FRIDAY 7AM-3PM...FOR WEEKEND
SPOTS PLEASE SUBMIT BY MIDDAY FRIDAY..THANK YOU***

DISCUSSION:
...Showers and isolated thunderstorm threat on the Cascades
Crest and east side this evening and Friday afternoon...
...Return to cool unsettled weather for this weekend...

High pressure over the district will continue. An upper level low off
the California coast will drift inland Friday...with scattered
showers developing over zones 611 and 608 Friday afternoon. Could see
a few thunderstorms in these zones as well. Main effect for the rest
of the district will be for increased onshore flow.

A cold front will drop south out of British Columbia and should reach
Astoria late Saturday morning...then push across the district later
Saturday. Cool showering weather will continue next week with any
breaks being short.
