WESTERN MONTANA AND NORTH CENTRAL IDAHO FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MISSOULA MT
200 AM MST THU MAR 27 1997
LCL COMPUTER PROBLEMS AND GUIDENCE IS SKETCHY ON HPS. NGM MOST
COMPLETE AND APPEARS TO BE INITIALIZED AND TRACKING WELL SO HAVE
LEANED IN THAT DIRECTION. SHORTWAVE NOW OVER CWA WITH FAIRLY FULL
RADAR SCOPE BUT SHOULD BE TRENDING TOWARD SCATTERING OUT BY 12Z. DRY
AIR MOVES OVER AREA TODAY BUT NOT MUCH WARMING UNDER WEAK SHORTWAVE
RIDGE. THEN NEXT SHORTWAVE MOVES IN TONIGHT. LOOKS LIKE BEST PRECIP
CHANCES BETWEEN 06-12Z BUT SPILLING OVER INTO FRIDAY MORNING SO HAVE
KEPT POPS UP FOR FRIDAY THOUGH TREND WILL BE FOR CLEARING. FREEZING
LEVELS DOWN SIGNIFICANTLY THIS MORNING WILL REBOUND SOME TODAY BUT
DROP AGAIN OVERNIGHT..SHOULD SEE SNOW TO VALLEY FLOORS BY EARLY
FRIDAY MORNING BUT DO NOT BELIEVE ACCUMULATIONS WITH THIS FAST MOVING
WAVE WILL WARRANT A SNOW ADVISORY. TEMPS 10 TO 12 DEGREES COOLER
TODAY THAN WED...MOS HAS BEEN RUNNING ON THE COOL SIDE WITH MAXES SO
HAVE STAYED ABOVE MOST LOCATIONS. HOADLEY
