A powerful storm complex developed near NE Colorado early Thursday and trucked it east to clip southern Iowa and then deliver a powerful blow to Illinois and Indiana. The system may end up being classified as a derecho for its lengthy in time and space strong winds. Anyway, the storm took a "ring of fire" pathway around the edge of a high pressure system off to the south.
