The severe weather event over the Southeast US on Wednesday was the first significant event this month. Looking back on recent years, the last half of November has been much more active (severe weather wise) for the United States with major outbreaks occuring after the 15th each year and roughly 3 times as many warnings issued than during the first 15 days. A majority of the warnings are a result of strong cold fronts that are able to push thru the Southeast US toward late November moreso than early. Will 2007 continue this trend? The long range models are hinting at a strong storm system around Thanksgiving!
