The very mild weather and rainfall this past weekend pretty much melted all of the snow away. Soil temperatures from the Ames SCAN site clearly indicate when the snow melted (temperatures start fluctuating) and when it rained later on Saturday. Without snow on the ground, air temperatures can get very warm during the day but not very cold (below zero) at night.
