.SHORT TERM...
(Today through Tuesday afternoon)
Issued at 320 AM CDT Mon Jun 16 2025

The short term forecast remains on track. Upper level ridging is
centered over southern New Mexico and will bring temperatures up a
few degrees over yesterday. Most locations will reach into the upper
90s to low 100s with areas along the Rio Grande reaching near 110F.
The ridge broadens overnight and temperatures will be well above
normal for Tuesday with many locations reaching above 100F. Even in
the mountains, temperatures will reach into the upper 90s.
Widespread Heat Advisories will be needed for much of the CWA. With
the ridge nearly overhead, rain chances will be quite low in the
short term with some shower activity possible in the Davis Mountains
and areas to the south.

.LONG TERM...
(Tuesday night through Sunday)
Issued at 320 AM CDT Mon Jun 16 2025

Much like the short term, little change to the forecast in the
extended. By Wednesday, an upper level ridge begins to break down
and temperatures begin to trend downward. Wednesday's highs will
still be above normal, but drop further towards normal for the end
of this week. Long range guidance continues to keep lower heights
over the area indicating near to almost below normal temperatures
for the region. However, rain chances will continue to remain
low(10-20%) for the next several days.
