...Severe Weather Preparedness Campaigns Begin Next Week...

As we approach the spring storm season, there is usually an 
increase in frequency of severe thunderstorms, including 
tornadoes, large hail, flash flooding and damaging thunderstorm 
winds. 

In preparaton for the spring storm season, the National Weather
Service (NWS) in Paducah, in conjunction with its partners, will 
be holding severe weather safety campaigns for each state served 
by the NWS Paducah Weather Forecast Office. 

Below is a list of the dates/times for each state's campaign and 
tornado drill:

Illinois - March 1-7; No formal Tornado Drill (part of weekly 
test only) 
Kentucky - March 1-7; Tornado Drill ("TOR" EAS Code) Wed. March 4
at approx. 9:07 AM CST 
Missouri - March 2-6; Tornado Drill ("TOR" EAS Code) Tue. March 3
at approx. 10 AM CST 
Indiana - March 15-21; Tornado Drill ("TOR" EAS Code) Wed. March 
18 at approx. 9:15 AM CDT

Social media graphics will be sent out for each of the campaign 
dates. 

We encourage everyone to use this time to educate themselves on 
severe weather hazards.
