The featured plot shows IEM computed monthly rainfall for the first order airports in the state. (Values are in hundreths of an inch). The 2-3 inches of rainfall thus far in SE Iowa is certainly a welcome sight, but it will take much more rainfall to make up for long term deficits of 10+ inches in the area. March is an excellent time to make up these deficits with limited agricultural impact, but the Ides of March is already here, so planting season is just around the corner.
