This week's drought monitor depicts a worsening situation over eastern Iowa with D1 level dryness analyzed. A below normal snowfall last winter and dry spring has put some areas significantly below normal. While there are chances of rain coming for Friday and Saturday, these chances don't look to be of the variety that could help make up the deficits. Folks in eastern Iowa will take any rain they can get.
