This plot shows daily values of 4 inch soil temperature (black line) and solar radiation (red line) for Ames. You can really see the recent warm up of soil temperatures and the really recent slight cool down. This cool-down was caused by a decline in solar energy due to clouds and cool rainwater entering the ground. Click on the image to get the entire 60 days. Very cool plot!
