June will mercifully come to an end today and the first day of July, tomorrow, promises to be much more summerlike. June was a very interesting weather month. The recent cool down can be seen in 4 inch soil temperatures (black line) from the Ames ISUAG site. Notice the trend upwards in the last few days of the plot as the top soil has slowly dried allowing the sun to warm the soil more efficiently.
