Winter Storm Warnings are in effect downwind of Lake Ontario western New York. Lake Effect Snow Warnings are in effect downwind of Lake Erie in northeast Ohio, Northwest Pennsylvania, and southwest New York. Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for portions of Minnesota, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and New York. Gale Warnings are in effect for the coastal waters of New England. In between, a tightened pressure gradient was leading to gusty west to northwesterly winds across portions of the Upper Midwest, Great Lakes, Northeast, and New England. Farther away from the Great Lakes, light to moderate scattered snow showers across portions of the Northeast and New England may result in some additional minor accumulations.
