Rating: EF-1 Estimated Peak Wind: 90 mph Path Length /statute/: 0.71 miles Path Width /maximum/: 200 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 05/18/2019 Start Time: 05:45 PM CDT Start Location: 1 WNW New Chapel Hill / Smith County / TX Start Lat/Lon: 32.3121 / -95.2087 End Date: 05/18/2019 End Time: 05:48 PM CDT End Location: 2 NW New Chapel Hill / Smith County / TX End Lat/Lon: 32.3217 / -95.2041 Summary: Tornado first touched down along Caleb Trail and Midway Drive where it uprooted and broke branches on trees. Trees fell on a car and homes along the road and shingles were removed on a single family home. As the tornado approached State Highway 64 it did partial roof damage to two metal outbuildings and damaged the sign of a Dairy Queen. After the tornado tossed metal across State Highway 64, it continued along Morris Rd where it uprooted several more trees and damaged limbs before lifting. The convergent pattern of tree damage to approximately 50 trees along the path coupled with ground reports of a funnel cloud were combined to help make the final determination of tornado damage in this survey. A special thanks goes out to Smith County Emergency Management and TDEM for their assistance in locating damage during the survey. && .Tornado #2 - Just west of Mora, Louisiana... Rating: EF-0 Estimated Peak Wind: 70 mph Path Length /statute/: 1.24 miles Path Width /maximum/: 80 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 05/19/2019 Start Time: 02:02 AM CDT Start Location: 3 W Mora / Natchitoches Parish / LA Start Lat/Lon: 31.3732 / -92.9990 End Date: 05/19/2019 End Time: 02:05 AM CDT End Location: 2 WNW Mora / Natchitoches Parish / LA End Lat/Lon: 31.3840 / -92.9832 Summary: The tornado touched down along the Kisatchie-Mora Road, about three miles west of Mora, where it snapped a few large tree branches. The tornado continued northeast as it paralleled Wilma Cedars Road breaking and snapping several large branches along the way. The tornado lifted after it broke a few more branches along the Mora-Gorum Road just north of Wilma Cedars Road. Estimated Peak Wind: 70 mph Path Length /statute/: 1 mile Path Width /maximum/: 50 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 05/18/2019 Start Time: 7:20 PM CDT Start Location: 6 SW Marshall / Harrison County / TX Start Lat/Lon: 32.4878 / -94.4227 End Date: 05/18/2019 End Time: 7:22 PM CDT End Location: 5 SW Marshall / Harrison County / TX End Lat/Lon: 32.4942 / -94.4076 Storm Summary: A rotating thunderstorm embedded within a line segment produced straight line winds along I-20 between exits 610 and 614 and again at the Granger Hall Cemetery off of State Highway 43 southwest of Marshall. Approximately 5 trees were uprooted with large limbs downed with all damage with the storm oriented in a northeast direction.
