...Summary...
A tornado associated with Tropical Depression Florence touched 
down during the early morning of September 17th, just southeast 
of Roseboro. This tornado continued on the ground for roughly 13 
minutes mostly impacting trees, farm buildings, and eventually a 
car dealership within the city of Roseboro. The storm continued to
weaken as it pushed northwest, crossing highway 24, and 
continuing to produce intermittent tree damage prior to lifting 
southwest of Salemburg.

NOTE: A ground and aerial survey was conducted on this storm
during the afternoon of September 18th. The survey crews were
unable to survey the track any further south of the South River
due to ongoing flooding. Additional segments, potentially into
both Cumberland and Bladen Counties may need to be surveyed at a
later date. We at the National Weather Service would like to thank
everyone involved on this survey.


EF Scale: The Enhanced Fujita Scale classifies tornadoes into the
following categories:

EF0...Weak......65 to 85 mph
EF1...Weak......86 to 110 mph
EF2...Strong....111 to 135 mph
EF3...Strong....136 to 165 mph
EF4...Violent...166 to 200 mph
EF5...Violent...>200 mph
