...Special Test Of Wewoka NOAA Weather Radio Warning Alarm Tone 
Feature Scheduled For Today at Noon...

Technicians have been working on the NOAA Weather Radio 
transmitter at Wewoka this week. To ensure full functionality, a 
special test of the warning alarm tone feature of the Wewoka 
transmitter will be performed today at noon.

The alarm tone feature of the Wewoka transmitter is used to alert
residents of hazardous weather in Coal, Hughes, Lincoln, 
Okfuskee, Pontotoc, Pottawatomie, and Seminole Counties. The 
Wewoka transmitter operates on a frequency of 162.55 megahertz.

Users of the Wewoka NOAA Weather Radio transmitter are encouraged
to report if their weather radio was activated by the test or 
not. Reports can be made to the National weather Service by phone
