Leake and Neshoba counties... 



.Southern Leake Thunderstorm Wind Damage...

Summary: A line of strong to severe thunderstorms was moving east
northeast across southern Leake County during the morning hours of
January 19, 2019. A severe thunderstorm wind gust resulted in the
snapping of medium-sized softwood tree limbs, east of US Highway
492 along Fortune Trail.

Summary: A line of strong to severe thunderstorms was moving east
northeast across northern Leake County during the morning hours of
January 19, 2019. Along the leading edge of the line, an EF1 tornado
developed east of US Highway 35, and it move from south to north initially
snapping softwood trees in open fields. As the tornado trekked northward, 
it caused four chicken houses along the intersection of Big Springs Road
and Barnes Road to lift and lay on its side; which was the most significant
damage. Tin from the chicken hours can be seen several yards away from its
source. The tornado quickly dissipated when it reached Duncan Road, but not
before uprooting a large softwood tree which feel atop of a home (causing
minor roof damage) and snapping softwood tree limbs.

Summary: This brief, weak tornado, touched down along McCullough-
McLin Road and traveled NE for just over 2 miles. A handful of
trees were downed with the majority of the damage being from
large limbs broken. Other roads that the  tornado crossed were
Thomasville and Coke Roads. Max winds were 70 to 75 mph.

Summary: This brief weak tornado touched down along Old Lake Road
and tracked NE across across the Robinwood Subdivision. Several
trees were uprooted or snapped with the majority of the damage
being from large limbs broken. A power line was down on one road
and a couple homes sustained minor roof damage from fallen limbs.
The tornado lifted as it crossed Highway 18. Max winds were
around 88 mph.

Summary: A line of strong to severe thunderstorms was moving east
northeast across southern Neshoba County during the morning hours of
January 19, 2019. Along the leading edge of the line, an EF0 tornado
developed near the intersection of US Highways 485 and 21, snapping a few
large softwood tree limbs. it moved to just north of US Highway 485 and
impacting an RV Park, where a few downed, snapped and uprooted softwood 
trees were noted. Along US Highway 15 northbound, some softwood tree limbs
were broken right before it finally dissipated.
