SURVEY_SUMMARY: 

A tornado developed in a corn field about 3.3 miles southeast of 
Rantoul, IL in northeast Champaign County, around 827 pm CDT 
June 26, 2018. The tornado traveled to the northeast at 25-30 mph. 
The first property damage that resulted was to the roof 
of a large shed, as well as to five trees. The tornado continued 
moving through corn and soybean fields,before damaging trees - which 
fell onto a car - less than two miles to the northeast. As the 
tornado approached, and then crossed, U.S.Highway 136 west-
northwest of Gifford it damaged another large shed roof. After 
crossing the highway, the tornado damaged the roofs of two garages
and old barn. The tornado then dissipated in a field shortly
afterward around 8:35 pm, 1.9 miles west-northwest of Gifford, IL.
