...Summary...
Around 335 PM, a complex of thunderstorms moved eastward from St.
Marys and Calvert Counties in the Chesapeake Bay. These storms
merged together into a squall line over the Chesapeake Bay and 
intensified before moving ashore in Dorchester County around 350 
PM. Once on land, these storms produced straight line winds of 70
to 80 mph which brought down numerous trees and power lines 
across Taylors Island and Hudson MD along with additional crop 
damage in the Northwestern portion of the county. The storm
continued to move quickly off to the east northeast, passing 
through Cambridge around 415 PM with a measured wind gust of 60 
mph. Based upon the type and direction of the damage through 
photos provided by Dorchester Emergency Management and a review of
radar data, the NWS Wakefield VA office has determined the damage
was caused by straight line winds of 70 - 80 mph.
