The National Weather Service in Wakefield VA has confirmed a tornado 10 miles NNW of Edenton in Chowan County NC on 05/05/2017. The tornado touched down just east of the Chowan River near Whites Landing Road and Gum Pond Road, causing sporadic tree damage as it moved across Rocky Hock Road. As the tornado continued to move north northeast, a trailer was knocked off it's foundation near Nixon Road and a barn was damaged near Evans Bass Road. The tornado lifted near highway 32 and Center Hill Road. All of the damage was consistent with an EF0 tornado with estimated winds of 70 to 80 mph.
