Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Houston/Galveston TX
1125 PM CST Fri Jan 11 2019

.AVIATION [06Z TAF Issuance]...

Line of moderate to occasionally heavy showers have entered the
area, and currently moving through CLL. By start of forecast
period, should be in UTS and likely CXO as well. Tried to hone in
conditions up there to be similar to CLL. Some lightning is being
observed in the line, but this is happening near the coast around
Matagorda Bay. As such, have tightened up VCTS mentions to coastal
terminals. Tried to get more specific with the timing on the
line, but naturally some more uncertainty for the terminals to see
this rain last. Conditions are likely to become low-end MVFR to
IFR in the wake of the line, then lift and clear through the day
as the front exits.

.PREV DISCUSSION /Issued 930 PM CST Fri Jan 11 2019/...

.DISCUSSION...
Line of showers approaching the region from the west should push
through the area overnight as forecast. Only changes for the
evening update were to nudge POPs up in the western zones in the
next couple hours as the leading edge of precip may arrive a touch
earlier than what was in the grids. Otherwise, just insignificant
tweaks to match observations. 47
