944 NOUS41 KILN 042112 PNSILN OHZ055-065-050115- Public Information Statement National Weather Service Wilmington OH 512 PM EDT Wed Apr 4 2018 ...Straight-Line Wind Damage Found in Southeast Franklin and Northwest Fairfield Counties... The National Weather Service in Wilmington surveyed areas along the path from southeast Franklin County near Obetz into northwest Fairfield County near Groveport and Canal Winchester where sporadic but in some cases significant wind damage occurred. Numerous photos and reports of rotation and wall clouds were received from these areas. The survey found no indication of a confirmed tornado, instead finding sporadic damage more consistent with nontornadic straight- line winds. The damage consisted of a felled communications tower in Obetz, tree and outbuilding damage as well as minor roofing damage south of Groveport, and unconfirmed reports of a funnel cloud south of Canal Winchester, where only minor tree damage was observed. All of this damage was inconsistent in time and space, and more indicative of general thunderstorm wind damage. The National Weather Service in Wilmington would like to thank the Fairfield and Franklin County Emergency Management Agencies for their assistance in this survey. $$ Binau/Haydu
