Clear and cool conditions tonight as high pressure builds into the
region. Updated hourly grids to follow current trends. No other
major changes made to the grids.

Winds across the Gulf waters are expected to strengthen overnight
with Small Craft Advisories in effect through Sunday morning.

AVIATION...

VFR through the period. Generally N-ly wind overnight around 10
KTs becoming more NE-ly toward 13Z SUN and beyond. Expect mid-
level clouds to gradually increase from the south on SUN.

SHORT TERM (Tonight through Sunday Night)...

Clear and chilly conditions are expected tonight as drier/colder air 
advects into S TX. This will also lead to much cooler mx temps on 
Sunday. A southwest flow aloft will begin to bring mid level clouds 
back across S TX through Sunday afternoon.  With surface high 
pressure continuing to build across the area tonight, winds will be 
weak to moderate out of the north and northeast and will continue 
into Sunday. By Sunday night, the high pressure will settle across S 
TX with the pressure gradient relaxing, resulting in light winds. 
However, radiational cooling will be inhibited by increasing clouds 
which will result in mn temps Sunday night being similar to 
tonight's forecasted values. Temps are expected to be in the 40s 
both nights and upper 50s to around 60 Sunday afternoon. 

LONG TERM (Monday through Saturday)...

Cool day in store for Monday as surface high pressure builds into 
the region and isentropic upglide maintains cloud cover. A short 
wave trough will move northeast through central Mexico Monday night 
and into the Texas Hill Country by Tuesday evening. Rain chances 
will increase as low level warm air advection increases above
the shallow cool air mass. There will be a weak coastal trough form 
over the coastal waters Tuesday evening as this upper level 
disturbance approaches. Chances for rain will taper off by Wednesday 
as the system moves to the northeast. Another weak short wave trough 
will move into the southern plains on Thursday but the lift 
associated with this feature will be north of the area. Only weak 
low level warm air advection could provide some isolated to possibly 
scattered light showers over the coastal plains Thursday. A stronger 
short wave trough will move out of the Rockies into the southern 
high plains Friday. Temperatures will warm to above normal levels 
Thursday into Friday as low level flow veers to southwesterly. The 
short wave trough will send a cold front into the region early 
Saturday morning with highs back to around normal levels next 
Saturday. Rain chances with the front will be confined to the 
coastal plains Saturday. 

MARINE... 

A weak to moderate north to northeast flow is expected to 
increase to mod/strong flow overnight. A Small Craft Advisory will
be in effect for tonight. Winds will relax Sunday as high 
pressure settles across the area, becoming weak to moderate by 
Sunday afternoon and night.

A moderate northeast flow is expected over the Gulf waters on Monday 
as high pressure continues to build into the region. A weak to 
moderate northeast wind will occur Monday night into Tuesday. A weak 
coastal trough will form over the Gulf waters as an upper level 
disturbance approaches from the west. Scattered showers are expected 
Tuesday into Wednesday. Onshore flow will develop on Wednesday. A 
cold front will arrive early Saturday morning with a moderate to 
strong offshore flow expected behind the front Saturday.
