...New 06Z Aviation Discussion...

.SHORT TERM...
(This afternoon through Wednesday)
Issued at 204 PM EDT Tue Sep 16 2025

  - No hazardous weather is anticipated through the end of the
    week.

  - Some isolated showers this afternoon across North GA but
expect dry weather and partly cloudy skies otherwise.

Current satellite loop shows some fair weather CU developing across
the Southeastern U.S along with some mid level clouds and isolated
showers moving south out out of TN. These showers are moving into
a drier airmass so as they move south they are dissipating. A
shower did reach the northern ATL suburbs but dissipated quickly.
These showers are from the low pressure system spinning just off
the VA/NC coast. This low is pulling moisture around its backside
and streaming increased clouds and isolated showers into NE GA.
This low center is expected to move N to NW tonight becoming
centered over eastern VA Wed afternoon. With this low center
moving further northward not expecting any precip chances
Wednesday.

Temperatures will remain steady with nearly identical diurnal
trends expected Today and Tuesday. Afternoon highs will peak in
the mid 80s to near 90 with morning lows in the lower to mid 60s.

.LONG TERM...
(Thursday morning through next Monday)
Issued at 204 PM EDT Tue Sep 16 2025

No major updates with this forecast. Warm and mostly dry will be the
theme for the long term forecast. Mid-level ridging will build
across portions of the Southeast between Thursday and Friday. Thus,
temperatures will warm a few degrees each day and any rain chances
will be minimal. This weekend, a midlevel trough will sweep across
the Upper Midwest pushing the midlevel ridge eastward. Following
this feature a series of weak disturbances traversing the base of
the broader trough will move across portions of the Southeast. This
may be just enough for isolated (<20%) rain chances over the weekend
and through early next week. With this pattern shift, temperatures
will also trend down a few degrees early next week. Forecast high
temperatures in the 80s areawide (5-10 degrees cooler in the
northeast).
