An Excessive Heat Warning and a Heat Advisory are in effect across South-Central Texas through this evening. There is an increased risk for heat related illnesses for those spending extended time outdoors and not taking proper precautions. Elevated fire weather conditions are possible today across the Rio Grande Plains, Edwards Plateau, Hill Country, and I-35 corridor. The combination of hot and dry conditions, as well as some moderate wind speeds, will continue to promote drying of fuels. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday. An Excessive Heat Warning and Heat Advisory headlines are likely to be issued for Wednesday in future weather forecast packages. Additional heat headlines will remain possible for portions of South Central Texas beyond Wednesday this week. There is an increased risk for heat related illnesses for those spending extended time outdoors and not taking proper precautions. Elevated fire weather conditions are possible each afternoon into evening this week into the weekend across the Rio Grande Plains, Edwards Plateau, Hill Country, and portions of the I-35 corridor.
