AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION

.DISCUSSION...

Satellite imagery shows clouds are beginning to thin out or
dissipate from the southwest late this evening. Still have quite a
bit of clouds to move through however, and even have some spotty
light showers on radar. This should all continue to clear up
overnight though, with places in southwest Virginia and the Tri
Cities area likely seeing clouds until almost daybreak tomorrow
morning. Overnight lows will be tricky tonight. Dewpoints remain
in the mid to upper 30s, even in places near Huntsville where the
surface high is centered and winds have gone calm. Calm winds and
clearing skies would favor lowering overnight temps. But all
guidance favors mid 30s on the low end tonight. Between cloud
cover, winds, and these dewpoints, this seems reasonable so kept
that part of the forecast unchanged.

VFR conditions forecast to prevail. Low clouds have exited CHA
and will exit TYS within the next hour or two. VFR 3500 ft cigs
will remain at TRI through about 12-14z with clearing thereafter.
Gusty WNW winds expected at times today at TRI with lighter winds
at CHA and TYS.
