788 FXUS64 KSJT 200829 AFDSJT Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service San Angelo TX 329 AM CDT Thu Jun 20 2019 .SHORT TERM... (Today and Tonight) The gradually rising temperatures saw temperatures finally hit the century mark across portions of the area, with San Angelo at 102 and the Sterling City mesonet at 105. Expecting temperatures to creep up another degree or two in most areas, and this starts to bump temperatures into Heat Advisory criteria for portions of the Concho valley. In addition, combination of temperatures near 100 and higher humidities will put apparent temperatures into Advisory criteria as well across the extreme eastern sections of the area from Brownwood to San Saba to Mason. Expecting drier conditions today, but the TTU-WRF and the ECMWF are still suggesting a few short lived afternoon and evening storms across the Heartland. Will add slight chance POP's into the forecast .LONG TERM... (Friday through Thursday) Upper flow pattern will become more southwest this weekend as an upper trough develops in the West. Isolated late afternoon/evening thunderstorms possible Friday and Saturday. Rain chances will be slightly better Sunday night into Monday, however, as the upper trough moves into the Central Plains, and sends a complex of showers and thunderstorms into North Texas, and possibly into West Central Texas. Most of the upper dynamics will be north of the region but it still be moist and unstable. Rain chances will become more sparse midweek as an upper ridge develops over New Mexico and West Texas and expands north into the Plains. Highs in the lower/mid 90s and lows in the lower 70s this weekend, will decrease slightly Monday through Wednesday, with highs in the lower 90s and lows in the upper 60s. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
