961 FXUS64 KSJT 181123 AFDSJT Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service San Angelo TX 623 AM CDT Mon Jun 18 2018 .AVIATION... /12Z TAFS/ Expect MVFR ceilings at the KJCT/KBBD terminals until 16Z-17Z, then VFR conditions across the area this afternoon and evening. Low clouds(MVFR) will return to the KJCT/KBBD terminals by 06Z Tuesday. Could see a few showers again today, but coverage is not expected to be high enough yet to warrant a mention in these TAFs. 21 && .PREV DISCUSSION... /issued 405 AM CDT Mon Jun 18 2018/ SHORT TERM... (Today and Tonight) ..Rain Possible... Rain chances remain in the forecast for the today and tonight periods. Models do not agree very well regarding the probability and location of rain. A general consensus, among surrounding offices, indicates the best rain chances will be south and east of our counties; however, will continue a small area of likely chances, across a narrow swath of our Northwest Hill Country counties. LONG TERM... (Tuesday through Thursday) ..Continued Rain Potential... Models continue to diminish the potential for rain, across West Central Texas, for these periods. The SuperBlend and NBM were of limited use this run, with huge PoP differences, as compared to our previous forecast. So, using our old PoP grids as a starting point, only adjusted PoP grids slightly this forecast cycle to maintain continuity with neighboring offices. In addition, the latest WPC 5 day (Today through Friday) Total Precipitation product indicates West Central Texas will receive mainly less than a quarter of an inch. That's a significant departure from previous outlooks. Thus, the majority of high rainfall amounts will likely be well south and east of West Central Texas. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
