The southeast half of the state was partly cloudy and dry. Predawn temperatures ranged from the mid 70s to the mid 80s. Winds were generally south at 5 to 15 mph, but stronger near the thunderstorms. A cold front extending from Iowa to Northwest Oklahoma early this morning, will meander across the central plains through tonight. By daybreak Monday the front should extend across Southern Kansas and Southern Missouri. Hot and humid conditions along and south of the front have prompted excessive heat warnings over most of Missouri and Eastern Kansas, while heat advisories are posted for most of Oklahoma and all of Arkansas. Showers and thunderstorms will persist into the morning over Kansas. Scattered thunderstorms are expected to redevelop along the front this afternoon and persist overnight across Kansas, Northern and Eastern Oklahoma, Missouri and Arkansas. Forecast highs range from the lower 80s in Northern Iowa, to near 105 in South Central Kansas and Western Oklahoma. Forecast lows range from near 60 in Western Nebraska, to the upper 70s in Oklahoma. $$ Howerton
