A band of showers and thunderstorms associated with this front will develop across western Pennsylvania this afternoon, with locally strong to severe storms being possible. These storms could produce damaging wind gusts across western Pennsylvania before weakening into rain showers after sunset as the front moves across central and eastern Pennsylvania. Locally heavy rainfall in thunderstorms and additional rain from showers could lead to isolated instances of flash flooding across the northern tier of Pennsylvania. Much cooler conditions are expected in the wake of this cold front, with frost/freeze potential Monday and Tuesday mornings. Drier post-frontal weather is expected except for a few lake- effect and upslope rain/snow showers over the Allegheny Plateau. A return to milder temperatures is expected by the middle of the week. $$
