An Extreme Cold Warning is in effect this morning for Western Pennsylvania with a Cold Weather Advisory in effect for central and eastern sections of the Keystone state. Gusty winds and cold temperatures will make for a bitterly cold morning, with winds chills dipping well below zero statewide by daybreak. Not much improvement in store for Tuesday afternoon. High temperatures will range from only around 10 degrees across the northern mountains to the lower 20s across southeastern Pennsylvania. But wind chills will remain in the single digits to below zero through the day, and dip back below zero statewide overnight. Occasional snow showers with additional accumulations of an inch or two will occur across northern and western Pennsylvania through tonight, with flurries over the Central Ridge and Valley region of the state. Reinforcing shots of arctic air will keep temperatures very cold through the end of the week and into the start of February. $$
