...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 745 PM MST THIS EVENING...
...REPLACES FLASH FLOOD WARNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of south central Arizona, including the 
  following county, Maricopa.

* WHEN...Until 745 PM MST.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying 
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Low-water 
  crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 550 PM MST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is
    ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area.
    Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen.
  - This includes the following streams and drainages...
    Cottonwood Creek, Ironwood Wash, Camp Creek, Indian Spring
    Wash, Picadilla Creek, Salt River, Sycamore Creek, Verde
    River and Mesquite Wash.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Scottsdale, Fountain Hills, Sugarloaf Mountain, Ballantine
    Trailhead, Round Valley, Rio Verde, Goldfield Ranch, McDowell
    Mountain Park, Salt River Tubing Recreation Area, Saguaro
    Lake, Granite Reef Dam and Fort McDowell.
  - This includes AZ Route 87 between mile markers 182 and 191.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law 
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National 
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
