310 FXUS63 KDDC 251045 AFDDDC Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Dodge City KS 545 AM CDT Thu Sep 25 2025 .KEY MESSAGES... - Temperatures will be near to slightly above seasonal averages over the next week. - There are very small chances for showers and t-storms Sunday and Monday evenings and again next Wednesday. && .DISCUSSION... Issued at 259 AM CDT Thu Sep 25 2025 A quiet weather pattern is predicted for the next several days. In the absence of any strong upper level troughs and strong surface winds that would create temperature advections, expect readings to be close to seasonal averages through the weekend. As seasonal averages drop next week and temperatures remain at similar levels, expect readings to eventually be slightly above average. The next chance of rain, albeit small, is Sunday and Monday as an upper level low over the Desert Southwest moves eastward and weakens. Marginal potential instability will be in place across far western Kansas, which may result in a shower or non- severe thunderstorm. But most locations will stay dry. Probabilistically, the ensemble means only show 20-40% chances of .01" or greater of rain across far western Kansas, indicating that any significant rain will be spotty at best. Chances for 1" or greater of rain are close to 0%. The next upper level system will approach the high plains by the middle of next week. Marginal instability will still be in place so that a few showers and non-severe t-storms are possible. Again, the ensemble means only show 20-30% chances for .01" of rain or greater. Chances for 1" or greater of rain over a 24 hour period are close to 0%. && .AVIATION /12Z TAFS THROUGH 12Z FRIDAY/...
