564 FXUS63 KGRB 250759 AFDGRB Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Green Bay WI 259 AM CDT Thu Sep 25 2025 Forecast discussion for routine morning forecast issuance .KEY MESSAGES... - Patchy to areas of dense fog is expected across the area this morning, especially across north-central Wisconsin. - An extended period of low-impact weather is forecast through at least the middle of next week. Above average temperatures and little to no rainfall are expected during this time. && .DISCUSSION... Issued at 259 AM CDT Thu Sep 25 2025 Areas of dense fog have developed across north-central Wisconsin early this morning as well as portions of central Wisconsin where visibilities have fallen to around one quarter of a mile. With several more hours of this fog expected will issue a Dense Fog Advisory for these areas this morning. Dense fog and stratus will eventually burn off a few hours after sunrise across the region. Otherwise mostly sunny skies are expected today as high pressure stays in control of the region. A cold front sinking south tonight will bring the chance for some sprinkles this evening across north-central Wisconsin, but should otherwise track through the area fairly dry as model soundings show a dearth of moisture. Temperatures will fall modestly behind the cold front on Friday, with a robust rebound this weekend as temperatures rise solidly into the 70s with a few 80 degree readings expected across the region. High pressure will be in control of the weather through much of the upcoming week with dry weather and above normal temperatures expected across the area. && .AVIATION...for 06Z TAF Issuance Issued at 1057 PM CDT Wed Sep 24 2025 Ceilings and visibilities will continue to lower across much of the area overnight into Thursday morning as low stratus and fog develop/spread into the region. Prospects are better for widespread fog tonight due to lighter winds under 1000 ft and moisture trapped under an inversion, especially across north- central WI. But still some question how widespread the fog will become (verses a low stratus), especially over the east, where SREF probabilities of under a half mile range from 10-70%. Will continue to carry the lowest conditions (VLIFR/LIFR) at RHI where dense fog is expected, with TEMPO groups for some lower conditions elsewhere. Any fog or low clouds will burn off after sunrise with only a few daytime cumulus clouds expected the rest of the day. Clouds look to increase late Thursday, especially over northern WI, as a frontal boundary approaches. This boundary could bring some showers to RHI towards 06z Fri. && .GRB WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES...
