074 FXUS62 KKEY 250228 AFDKEY Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Key West FL 1028 PM EDT Wed Sep 24 2025 ...New DISCUSSION, MARINE, AVIATION... .DISCUSSION... Issued at 1030 PM EDT Wed Sep 24 2025 A weak surface through lower level ridge extends across the Florida Peninsula this evening. winds are light and broadly out of the northeast. Some variability is evident due to earlier day time heating. This evenings sounding indicated precipitable water was ample near near 2 inches and surface dew points are seasonable. However, there are some decent dew point depressions through the lower levels and some low level inhibition. The flow late this afternoon was conducive for cloud line formation and some incursion from mainland seabreeze activity. However, this activity will rather weak and all activity has long since dissipated. Weak surface through lower level ridging will remain in control through the overnight period. Plan view and forecast soundings suggest some moistening will occur through the lower levels. However, instability below 700 mb will be quite limited and low level lift is expected to be limited. As a result, will nudge PoPs down to slight chance, near to slightly above statistical guidance. Winds will become prevailing easterly as the effects of day time heating wears off. This flow will help to keep overnight lows near to slightly above 80 with dew points in the mid 70s. && .MARINE...
