862 FXUS64 KCRP 062334 AFDCRP Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Corpus Christi TX 634 PM CDT Wed Aug 6 2025 ...New AVIATION... .KEY MESSAGES... Updated at 633 PM CDT Wed Aug 6 2025 - Low 10-20% chance of showers and thunderstorms each day. Higher chances across the Coastal Waters. - Generally minor to moderate risk of heat related impacts across South Texas, with a major risk across the northern Brush Country, through Saturday. - Elevated fire weather conditions across the western Brush Country and Rio Grande Plains through the weekend. && .DISCUSSION... Issued at 1226 PM CDT Wed Aug 6 2025 A strong mid level high pressure system is currently centered over W TX and NM. Drier mid level air will move across S TX tonight on the eastern periphery of the high pressure. This will keep rain chances less than 20 percent most days through early next week. A few streamer showers can be expected along the coast each morning, then shifting inland each afternoon along the sea breeze. The Victoria Crossroads does see an increase to 30 percent on Sunday due to a mid level inverted trough moving across the region and advecting slightly deeper moisture into the area. However, most areas will remain dry throughout the period. Temperatures will be near to slightly above normal through the weekend and into next week. Heat indices will generally be 100-109 each afternoon. A few areas could briefly reach around 110 as the sea breeze moves inland. However, conditions should remain below Heat Advisory levels due to it being localized and of a short duration. Generally there is minor to moderate risk of heat related impacts each day. A few locations across the Brush Country may see a brief major risk through Friday. Minimum RH values are expected to be 20-30 percent across the western Brush Country and the Rio Grande Plains through the weekend. This may lead to elevated fire weather conditions, mostly across western portions of Webb County, if winds are slightly higher than anticipated. However, winds are expected to remain below thresholds. && .AVIATION... (00Z TAFS) Issued at 633 PM CDT Wed Aug 6 2025 VFR conditions will prevail through the forecast with a brief instance of MVFR/IFR vsby over the inland Coastal Plains, impacting VCT/ALI between 09-13Z.
