while northern areas begin to cool off. Well below average 
temperatures are then expected for the middle of the week, with 
daytime highs mostly in the lower 60s to mid 70s, before slowly 
warming late in the week. Chances for showers and thunderstorms 
also return to the forecast Today and are the highest from tonight
through Wednesday night.
